Since the last update, all of the wiring on the smaller side of the layout has been completed, and scenery work has begun. In the video you will notice that the crossing lights still stop and start as the train goes through in the over all shot. This is because I have not finished adding resistor wheel sets to all of my freight cars, not because of any defective parts. The scenery was constructed with woodland scenics foam products as a support base. Then I stapled/tacked mesh screen over it to form the basic shape of the terrain. Once that dried, I began adding vines and weeds around them, and then began adding trees. To do this, I simply poked a hole in the plaster with a screw driver and inserted the tree with a drop of glue added. The trees were made from various kits including Woodland Scenics, Scenic Express, and Grand Central Gems, as well as my own hand made trees. I have ... |

Adventures in Making Trees: Part 5
|
My Web Site: modelrr.oakviewresources.com Part 5: In this video I experiment with with making a conifer with stranded wire. It didn't really turn out like I hoped. I debated on whether I should make parts 4 & 5 live but I figured "What the heck". Somebody may be inspired by what I tried to do and come up with the next big thing in Model Railroad. If you're not that person feel free to skip over parts 4 and 5. Music Notes: The music on this video was recorded using Sonar Home Studio Ver 6.0.
